Back in May, The Austin Food & Wine Alliance hosted the The 2016 Official Drink of Austin Cocktail Competition. Several great local bars came together and competed to see who could come up with the best new drink to represent the city. The winning drink this year came from Geraldine’s in the Hotel Van Zandt on Rainey Street. You can try it at Geradline's this summer or make it at home with the recipe below.
Far From the Tree
1 1/2 ounces Treaty Oak Rum
3/4 ounce fresh pressed apple juice
1/2 ounce pecan orgeat
1/2 ounce Paula’s Texas Orange
1/2 ounce lemon juice
Shake all ingredients and strain over crushed ice. Garnish with apple slices and grated pecan (Serves 1)
